Enfield Public Schools Program Review

Student Participation Overview

During the 2022-2023 school year Enfield Public Schools is working with CREC Resource Group to review its current programming. Results of this review will assist with the development of district equity goals. These goals will be embedded within classrooms and supported by curricula, as well as positively impact school climate and culture. Administrators, staff, students, and parents will participate in voluntary discussions about their perspectives of the school climate and culture with Education Specialists from CREC Resource Group. Some example questions that students will be asked include:

Have you seen your own culture, race, or ethnicity reflected/represented in the classroom?

Do you think all students feel like they belong and are connected to Enfield Public Schools?

Can you think of past events, programs, classes) that provide opportunities to build relationships with students around their culture?

Student participation in the district will vary depending on age/grade level. Younger students will participate by responding to a writing prompt and engaging in discussion with their teacher. Older students will participate in a focus group of 8-10 students led by Education Specialists from CREC Resource Group.  Students' names and demographics will not be connected to their comments and will not be included in the final analysis. All participation is voluntary, and commentary is anonymous.

This message is to inform you that your child may be asked to participate in part of this program review. Again, their participation is completely voluntary. If you or your child prefers not to participate, please inform school administration.
